Lee meets the Sons of Italy in Laurel

On June 9, 2022, I was pleased to attend the “Sons of Italy” at their monthly meeting in Laurel to get acquainted with this important citizen body in Legislative District 21. This group Italian-Americans meet regularly to share experiences and knowledge about the local Italian community, as well as the culture and life of their native Italy. I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly reception and Italian dinner, which was an intimate part of this meeting at the St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church.

At the meeting, I was invited to speak briefly to introduce myself as candidate for State Senate in Legislative District 21. I pointed out that this State Senate seat represents the people of Laurel and elsewhere in the general area. In my comments, I emphasized my life-long work in the field of scientific education, which is commonly associated with the work and research of Dr. Maria Montessori, a famous Italian educator in the field.

Concerning my campaign, I especially pointed out the deplorable condition of the Maryland public schools, and the need for parent choice to start moving in a new direction, away from the wasteful spending and dysfunctional policies of the current General Assembly.
